Mickelson on the performance of the HEX Black Tour golf ball:
“I had a big advantage this week, I felt, because when the winds started coming up, when the rain started coming up, I felt like I had an advantage by the way my ball was flying and being controlled through that wind. We’ve got a new ball this year, HEX Black (Tour), and it just flew so good and penetrated through the air so much better that in this thick, cold air I felt like I had a big advantage.”
Mickelson on his new RAZR Fit Driver:
“I certainly am confident now heading into some of our big events. I feel like, you know, my putter is back. I mean, I feel so good with the putter. I feel like I’ve got a driver that’s dialled in with our new RAZR Fit driver. And I feel like I’ve got such control over my flight and trajectory distance control.”
Using his Odyssey putter, Mickelson was first in the field in strokes gained in putting, averaging 3.329 strokes gained over the last two days. He was also third in greens in regulation, hitting 75% for the week with his Callaway irons. Sport Illustrated’s David Dusek said: If Phil weren’t happily married to Amy, he’d propose to his driver right now.
