Why Brandt Snedeker rushed to Golf Galaxy and bought a ‘new’ putter for Match Play

Brandt Snedeker may have lost his opening match to Will McGirt Wednesday at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play, but the loss wasn’t Snedeker’s only worry.

According to Golf Channel, Snedeker noticed the head was loose on his putter while warming up Wednesday morning on the practice green. He played the match, which McGirt won 2 up, with an untested replacement putter.

Snedeker told Golf Channel that he was going to have three replacement putters shipped to Austin Country Club in time for his Thursday match against Andy Sullivan, and that he also hoped to have his original putter fixed soon.

However, it appears as if plans have changed. According to Twitter, Snedeker found a “new” putter at the local Golf Galaxy in Austin.

Who knows how many three-putts that putter has been through, but it looks like Sneds is prepared to give it a whirl on Thursday.
